Ministry Development Coordinator, Midwest

Location: Homewood, IL

Summary

The Ministry Development Coordinator, Midwest assists with developing and maintaining relationships with local Mercy Network churches in the Midwest for the purpose of equipping God’s church to communicate the Gospel through effective compassion ministry. This full-time, exempt position is located in Homewood, IL, and reports directly to the Ministry Development Director, Midwest. Compensation depends on experience and includes a comprehensive benefit package (medical, dental, retirement, etc.)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify, approach, cultivate, maintain, and report on prospective and existing partner churches and all related activity including progress made and challenges faced in conducting biblical compassion ministry
  • Meet departmental and organizational requirements, in terms of number of contacts made and following established processes for selecting, qualifying, developing, and approving partner churches
  • Plan and prepare to equip churches to communicate the Gospel through effective compassion ministry, formally and informally, through in depth discussion and systematic instruction consistent with CHF’s approach
  • Assist with developing additional Mercy Networks within the region according to CHF's vision plan
  • Facilitate the distribution of products to Mercy Networks in cooperation with Operations personnel, including assisting with the loading and unloading of products by operating a forklift occasionally
  • Travel locally within the region to churches and various ministry locations frequently
  • Travel to CHF regional sites across the U.S. and corporate office in Southern California occasionally
  • International travel may be required at least once per year

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend and assist with donor and volunteer events periodically, including some evenings and weekends
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Ministry Development interns, volunteers, and part-time staff occasionally

Qualification

  • Received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Maturing in a personal relationship with Christ for at least five years
  • Active in a local church for the last consecutive three years and continuing
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred, but not required
  • Experienced in public speaking
  • Experienced in teaching the Bible
  • Experienced in working with others from various theological backgrounds

Skills

  • Computer literate and proficient
  • Able to learn new software quickly
  • Able to write proficiently
  • Able to administrate tasks

Software

  • Microsoft Office (required)
  • Power Point (helpful, but not required)
  • Raiser’s Edge (helpful, but not required)

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lifts under 50 lbs
  • Able to set up and break down a display booth occasionally
  • Able to remain in a stationary position, seated or standing, at least 50% of the time
  • Moves around inside the office occasionally to access file cabinets and utilize office machinery
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a copy machine and printer
  • Able to exchange accurate information verbally and in writing constantly

Ministry Development Coordinator, Asia

Location: Pacoima, CA

Organization

Summary
The International Ministry Development Coordinator – Asia provides leadership, oversight, and accountability for all CHF ministry relationships in the Eastern Hemisphere, particularly in Asia, under the direction of the Ministry Development International Director (A). This person serves as a representative of CHF in the Eastern Hemisphere, particulary in Asia. This full-time, exempt position is located at corporate headquarters in Pacoima, CA and reports directly to the Ministry Development International Director (A).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and give direction to the spiritual growth of the individuals who maintain our relationships in the Eastern Hemisphere, particularly in Asia.
  • Oversee and give direction in identifying, approaching, cultivating, maintaining, and reporting on prospective and existing partner churches/ministries and related activity
  • Oversee and direct the planning, and coordination of international trips to ministry sites in the Eastern Hemisphere, particularly in Asia, as directed by the Executive Team
  • Travel domestically and internationally

Other Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct Compassion Ministry Essentials Training, regionally and internationally
  • Attend and assist with donor and volunteer events

Supervisory Responsibilities
None

Qualifications
  • Received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Maturing in a personal relationship with Christ for at least five years
  • Active in a local church for the last consecutive three years and continuing
  • Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies, seminary education, and/ or equivalent experience
  • Pastoral experience in shepherding relationships to a mature understanding of God's Word
  • Experienced in public speaking
  • Experienced in teaching the Bible
  • Experienced in working with others from various theological backgrounds
  • Experienced in building and leading teams

Skills
  • Computer literate and proficient
  • Able to learn new software quickly
  • Able to write proficiently
  • Able to administrate tasks

Volunteer Assistant, West

Location: Pacoima, CA

Summary

The Volunteer Assistant will help arrange volunteer workdays and work alongside volunteers during all work days at CHF and various off-site locations. This position is located at CHF West in Pacoima, CA, and reports to the Volunteer Coordinator, West. It is classified as part-time or full-time non-exempt. Compensation depends on experience. Benefits are available for full-time employees only.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up, tear down, clean up, and movement of product on volunteer work days
  • Assist in communicating safety orientation, project orientation, and project summary to volunteers
  • Load, unload, and move product to designated areas
  • Track and report on inventory and assist with distribution projects
  • Assist with Food Pak campaigns by providing prepared boxes for distribution
  • Account for Food Pak boxes processed (number of empty ones given out and returned)
  • Submit inventory of Pak components to supervisor weekly
  • Help maintain Food Pak supplies by taking inventory of empty boxes, prepared boxes, case packs, brochures, packing slips, shrink wrap, tape, and other related supplies
  • Complete safety, health code, and forklift checklists in volunteer area daily
  • Receive donations and make change for CHF gear purchased by volunteers
  • Meet with supervisor weekly to discuss and review projects

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facility maintenance, including cleaning and repairs, using the facility help desk email system (this responsibility will report jointly to the Distribution Director West and the Volunteer Coordinator West once a week to discuss facility issues)
  • Participate in offsite volunteer events

Qualifications

  • Received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Maturing in a personal relationship with Christ for at least two years
  • Active in a local church for the last consecutive two years and continuing
  • Valid Class C driver's license
  • Forklift certified (will train)
  • CPR certified (will train)

Skills

  • Computer literate and proficient
  • Able to learn new software quickly
  • Spanish helpful, but not required
  • Able to speak publicly

Software

  • Microsoft Office (required)

Physical Demands

  • Lift under 50 lbs. daily
  • Move around during volunteer work days constantly
  • Climb up and down a stationary ladder frequently
  • Set up and break down a display booth occasionally
  • Remain in a stationary position, seated or standing, at least 30% of the time
